Porcini Mushrooms 20gm. Porcini mushrooms can be found in most parts of Europe but they are particularly loved in Italian Cuisine. There intense nutty earthy flavour can be used in soups, pastas , sauces , stuffings and ragus. They can be substituted for almost any mushroom in a recipe. They are very strong and the amount required is quite small. They are rarely cultivated as they grow best in woodlands interconecting with the roots of trees forming a complex growing relationship that is hard to replicate under cultivation. Dried porcicni mushrooms should be re- constituted in water , then drained and used. The liquid can also be used as this is very flavourful after they are soaked.
