Fiegl Leopold Cuvee Rouge 2012
In the manner of many well-established Italian wineries, Fiegl’s flagship wine is one based on Cabernet Sauvignon.
This grape variety thrives in the cooler climate of the North Eastern region of Friuli and is held as a reserve wine for three years in barrel and three years in bottle before release to the market.
Grapes: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: an unsually hot June and July, followed by damp, mild weather in August, before another hot spell for the rest of the season. Overall good quality
Vinification: grapes co-fermented in stainless steel, with three years maturation in barrique, and another three years in bottle before release Alcohol: 14%
